I'm writing this post on January 14th because I'm pretty sure I caught Jackson's cold and went to bed early last night. He's starting to feel a little better, although you wouldn't really know it from these pics.

On a happy note, I got my new lens today!!! It's a 50 mm f/1.8 lens, and I can already see a difference. It's much sharper and I'm able to blur the background more (which is called bokeh). Here's my first shots with the new lens - nothing too spectacular because I literally got the lens, put it on the camera, and started fiddling around with it. I'm still figuring it out  :)
